Parish Council Election

Brixworth Parish Council Election May 2012

Could You be a Parish Councillor?
You should consider becoming a parish councillor if:
• You Want To Do Something Positive for Your Community
• You Want To Spend Your Time Productively
• You Can Think, Listen and Act Locally

May 2012 is when the present Parish Council comes to the end of its period of office, it may seem a long way off, but the Council is already thinking about the next election.

As at every election, some people will stand down and, given sufficient people willing to stand, some may not be re-elected. We would encourage everyone reading this to consider offering themselves as candidates.

Parish Councillors are unpaid and the minimum commitment is to attend usually two meetings a month – one committee meeting and one meeting of the full council – and to be available to take a councillor’s surgery on a Saturday morning approximately twice a year.

Look out for the display in the Library/Community Centre foyer in mid January 2012.
If you are interested in finding out more please contact our Clerk Jane Macken 01604 881243 clerk@brixworthpc.org.uk or Daventry District Council
